Enhancing Employee Performance Through Self-Efficacy, Competency, and Organizational Culture: Evidence from a Regional Hospital

This study aims to analyze the influence of self-efficacy, competency, and organizational culture on employee performance at RSUD dr. Mohamad Soewandhie, Surabaya. Healthcare organizations require high employee performance to ensure service quality and patient safety. Previous studies show mixed findings on the influence of self-efficacy, competency, and organizational culture on employee performance, indicating a research gap. The research employed a quantitative method with a descriptive approach. Primary data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 79 ward nurses, selected using proportional random sampling from a total population of 367 nurses. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression assisted by SPSS software version 25. The findings indicate that self-efficacy, competency, and organizational culture each exert a partial influence on employee performance. Moreover, these three variables simultaneously have a significant influence on employee performance. This research underscores the importance of enhancing self-efficacy, competency, and organizational culture within the hospital environment to improve overall employee performance. Enhanced employee performance is expected to positively impact patient care quality and the operational effectiveness of the hospital. Therefore, it is recommended that hospital management prioritize initiatives aimed at boosting employees' self-efficacy, continuous competence development, and strengthening a supportive organizational culture.
